A Long Wet August

Welcome to my August blog. Well the world is still suffering from a pandemic and the effects of it will last for many years, but on a personal level I give thanks that myself and my family are all well and adjusting to a new normal.

The beach is my inspiration and go to place for resting my soul.

While recently watching YouTube I came across two artists that resonated with my own ideas on watercolour. John Halley and Lena Gemzoe have inspired me to go further with my wet on wet watercolour, using intense colour on a very wet paper and letting the water move the pigment.

Towards the Heads
Down by the Boat Ramp

Some of these images will be part of my next combined exhibition with Unlimited Palette at the Carlton Gallery in Katikati. The exhibition is titled ‘Landscapes of the Soul’ and runs from 21st September until 4th October.

You can see more of my work on instagram‘waihibeachart’ or ‘pamsart.felt.co.nz.

Until next month, keep safe, keep happy and be creative.
