January 2021

Happy New Year to you all. Thank you for following my monthly blog of what’s happening in my art world.

The exhibition Less is More, continued through to the 15th January at the Historic Village in Tauranga. I had lots of positive feedback and some sales as well.

I’m thrilled to be part of Andrew’s space at Waihi Beach Art Gallery. Two of my pieces sold quickly and another is in the window at the moment.

A full sheet watercolour painting with a floating backing, framed by Andrew at the Waihi Beach Gallery.

On the 9th January I opened the studio doors for my Open Studio day. I got lots of visitors and again made some sales. I do enjoy my Open Studio days when I can talk about my art journey and where I’m going with it.

I’m also open to people ringing me to book a time to come and see my art. If I’m home I’m more than happy to have visitors.

My studio.

I’m currently taking a 5 session Beginners Watercolour course with three very talented ladies. This is a fun course but also informative on materials used in watercolour painting, mixing colours, tonal value and perspective.

Abstract Watercolour

I’m currently taking bookings for an abstract watercolour workshop for the end of February, beginning of March.

This is not a beginners workshop. Please contact me if you would like to be part of this one day watercolour workshop.

The Waihi Plein Air Painters will meet once a month this year as well. We visit local places of interest to paint, in and around Waihi, Waihi Beach, Athenree and Katikati. If you are interested in joining this group please make contact with me and I can give you the venue.

Athenree Harbour. PleinAir.

I do love to get feedback from my blog so please make contact if you wish to do so.

Until next month, keep safe.
