Welcome readers. More followers this month as I spread the word of my residency in Scotland. It’s been a quiet month in July. Mainly preparing for my residency and time away from New Zealand. So here’s a quick round up of July.

It was Matariki when the Waihi Plein air painters and sketchers met in July. We started out on this green but the wind came, then the rain started so we retired to the Beach House cafe to finish off the drawings and warm up with a coffee.

On the 13th July I attended an inspiring luncheon with other artists in the Western BOP and Tauranga. These luncheons are a great way to re connect and meet new artists. Very valuable when you work on your own.
Well, as I said before, I’ve been doing very little in the line of creative work although I felt the need to paint the beach .

Then I packed my studio up nice and tidy so it will all be ready to create in when I get home.

Well only 2 more sleeps until we start our sojourn into the northern hemisphere and because you have all signed up for my blog , you are coming along as well! Besides, it will be cheaper for you and you won’t get travel sickness or jet lag.
Our first stop is Dubai where my grandson has asked me to look out for Burj Khalifa, the highest building. He painted me a picture so I could recognise it.

My intention is to do a quick blog every day, or two. It will be easier in Scotland where I need to record my day anyway. I hope to be able to sustain it for 2 months!! Regular feedback from you all will help spur me on. It was before Christmas when I applied for the residency so it seems to have taken forever, but now it’s only days away I’m ready to GO.
Ka kite ano. Pamela
