Dublin 3

How about this for a library?

The Long Room Library, Trinity College
A massive vaulted space. Still a working library for students at Trinity College.
Their most famous book is the book of Kells.
Farmleigh estate was part of the Guinness dynasty. Now owned by the government and used as accommodation for overseas dignitaries .
Beyond the estate a stunning exhibition ‘Trees to Treasure’ showed examples of wooden furniture. I loved the simplicity of this table.
Phoenix Park and distant gazebos. Still part of the original Guinness estate.
Phoenix Park, Farmleigh Estate. I had to stop to do sketches as we walked through the park back to the city.

I don’t want to go on about this but we walked back to the city!!!! My feet were killing me. We went towards the Guinness store and decided we couldn’t go any further. Today I broke a 5 year abstinence from alcohol. Dear God that Guinness was good.

The view from the bar of the Guinness factory went for miles.

Apart from the Phoenix Park sketches, most of the day was spent on tourist sights.

Ciao. Pamela

  2. At least it was worth it. I remember the Guinness was very good. Yesterday I picked 2 beautiful freezias from your garden. I decided they would be dead by the time you got home. They look lovely on my table. Love your posts xx
