Culloden

I was wrong. The Jacobites weren’t fighting the English. They were fighting the Government. Poor ole Bonnie Prince Charlie lost this fight in Culloden along with many Jacobite soldiers who lost their lives.

Just looks like a paddock back home but isn’t.

Although it was a nice day to walk around in a paddock it was full of others doing the same. It took awhile to get a shot free of tourists for you. The most fascinating part was this little building. To look like the building that was here and used by the government forces as a hospital.

Culloden cottage.

We are now in Cromarty. Ardyne house has accomodation for visiting artists.

Ardyne house. Our home for the next 2 weeks. Our room is the one on the first floor on the right.

Lovely accommodation with bedroom, ensuite and lounge/ sitting area.

The view from the bedroom window.
The view from the sitting room window.

We share the well equipped kitchen space. There are 2 other artists staying here as well but haven’t seen them yet. I was sent instructions to go in the main door, up the stairs and the key would be in our door!!! And it was.

Ka kite til tomorrow. Pamela.
