Near Bonar Bridge

A bit of a road trip today. Sorry, left my sketch book at the house, so no sketches done.

We met up with some friends of friends and had a lovely Scottish welcome into their home.

A little trip down the road to these falls.
Cassley falls.
Ken, Pam and new friend Lt. Col. Colin Gilmour.

The heather was at its best apparently. We were very privileged to see such an awesome display.

Heather.
More Heather on the hills. Who said hills aren’t purple?

Such a lovely time to immerse myself in Scotland. Then back to Cromarty as the evening sun hit the cottages along the waterfront.

Evening in Cromarty.

This really is such a beautiful place.

  1. I bet you had wished you had taken your sketch book! Amazing landscape with the heather in full bloom and the timing of the sun on that quaint little village! What a wonderful time you are having! Raining here today!!

  2. Kia ora Pam. Lovely photos. I wonder if some landscape paintings will follow with the purple hues ? The shapes of the houses along the shore are very attractive too. You are making me want to visit Scotland! I am enjoying the NZ film festival here.. great film yesterday on the German artist Anslem Kiefer. His paintings are very emotive and challenging . Wow, his studio is so big he rides around in it on a bike! Paintings and sculptures big too. Loving that we are getting a daily update on your adventure and work
