Studio Time

The only adventure today was trying to find a coffee shop that was open. We were unsuccessful so came back and made one in our own kitchen. I had every intention of getting straight into the studio then but felt the need to talk to my ‘kids’. Catching up on everyone’s news made me feel so far away from them all. But I eventually made it out to the studio. Today I wanted to capture the essence of the firth, the special feeling that it evokes. This place has been a village since medieval times and the firth has been its life force.

My little watercolour of the Cromarty firth.

I didn’t crop the painting as some of you were wondering what size my work was. This Winsor and Newton book is A5 and such a good size for quick work.

The north and south sutors guarding the entry into the deep water of the firth.

This painting is done on a third full size sheet of watercolour paper. Yesterday’s painting of the Heather hills was on a half sheet watercolour paper.

Another inquiry was regarding whether I was going to ‘tackle’ the Riggs? I’ve got ideas! Maybe tomorrow!!!!

For those of you worried about what Ken was going to do here, at this stage he’s read lots of books.

I know it doesn’t look much but I have been painting. Talk tomorrow.

Ka kite. Pamela
