Nigg

They call them the riggs of Nigg. That’s where the maintenance is done on the riggs. Nigg! It sits across the firth and had a cute little ferry go across, backwards and forwards from 8 in the morning until 8 at night. The ferry has been having maintenance done the last 5 days so today we decided to go to Nigg.

The ferry takes walk on passengers and 2 cars. Too bad if you are the 3rd car waiting in line.

Across the firth Nigg looks little. Looks smaller the closer you get.

Nigg has 4 buildings and about 8 motor homes. They didn’t get there on the ferry either.
The only thing to do in Nigg is climb up the hill.
That’s Cromarty from up a hill near Nigg.
Back down on the beach this is the North Sutor.

We sat and watched the North Sea. I did a couple of contour sketches.

The North Sutor
Across the firth to the South Sutor. With a little jet ski buzzing by.
Then it was back on the ferry for a ride home.

I did start some paintings when I finally got in to the studio. Maybe you’ll see them tomorrow.
