Rainy day

Spent the morning in my studio finishing off these 2 little watercolours. About 6 inches square( I’m in imperial land now) and fun to do. I had put the wash on last night and done the pencil drawing so this morning I sat with a tiny brush and painted tiny windows and chimneys. Actually it was very therapeutic just like colouring in.

The corner across from Ardyne house, looking down to the sea.
Bank st Cromarty, looking the other way up the street from Ardyne house.

I know the yellow is too powerful and definitely not what you would see BUT… this is a sunset from a couple of nights ago.

Stunning ah?

Last night we walked along the sea front and I’m sure I saw a pirate ship!!!

How about that for a sunset?

But today it rained so no such sunset tonight. But we are in Scotland after all.

This afternoon I put on my big girl pants, took a big breath and approached a gallery. I took original handmade postcards, my original artwork on greeting cards and the larger works I’ve been doing. I was greeted with “ I usually just have Scottish artists!” (Another big breath!) “Yes but they are all Scottish paintings “. “ Hmmm”. Then she looked at my greeting cards. “Yes I like these.” Then the postcards . “Yes I’ll take these too.” She couldn’t take unframed work, especially without a mat apparently. She loved the little Cromarty ones I had done this morning but no go without a frame. Anyway she bought the little paintings and now I’m an international seller of art!!!!

Talk tomorrow. Pamela
