I had a precious visit to the studio of Alison Ryde today. It was lovely to talk technique, paper weight, framing costs and paint labels.

Alison uses watercolour with intense colour in bold graphic design and shapes.

Alison is a New Zealander who left Christchurch around 30 years ago to move to Montefalco in Umbria, Italy. She said it took her a long time to be accepted into the art scene in Italy but now is often invited to submit works for exhibition.

The view from her studio is very much what inspires her.

We sat in the piazza and had drinks and dinner in the evening with Wendy, Brad and Luke. A fun evening. The last of Montefalco life.

Thanks Wendy. Ciao Bella. Pamela
