Welcome to my blog. Spring is in the air and we are having some warm weather which is very welcome. Unfortunately the weekend I was hanging out at Palmers garden centre, it was cold, windy and raining. Not conducive to people planning their spring gardens and coming in for plants, or art for that matter. Many people did stop and chat though and I had lots of positive comments regarding the work I had there. While it was very quiet I busied myself painting little pictures of FLOWERS (of course!)

Next Tuesday I’ll be dropping off the work for Franklin Arts, Pukekohe. Opening night next Friday then open to the public from Saturday 14th to Sunday 22nd. Held in the Pukekohe town hall, check it out if you are up that way.
It’s official. The watercolour NZ newsletter has arrived in the mail box and it says in there that I’m one of the guest artists. So it must be true.

My frames have arrived!!! They are totally gorgeous. Thanks Framefox. Now I have to choose the works that I want to put in them for the exhibition in Wellington, Porirua. I have been painting most days so have quite a stash that I will sort through. It’s not just choosing the ones I like. As a group they need to resonate with each other so they become pleasing to the eye. But also have the WOW factor. I’m thinking the easy part was painting them. The hard part will be selecting them. Here’s a little selection.

Acrylic ink and watercolour. Don’t know why it has the shape but I quite like it.

I feel very blessed to have been offered the opportunity to exhibit at SPLASH this year. I’m looking forward to feedback. I’m aware my work is not everyone’s “cup of tea” but it’s out there in the public eye and that is a blessing.
Catch up next month. Keep the feedback coming. Pamela.
