Further to my October blog, SPLASH exhibition in Stratford is still on until the 17th November. Thank you to my friends and family who have made the trip to Stratford to see this National exhibition, and for the wonderful feedback. It was an added bonus to receive a merit award for one of my paintings.

This is Deb Clarke, the judge, putting the award on my painting. her reason for choosing this piece is recorded as,
Pamela Lines- Of Hills and Trees
“When a clever abstracted artwork suggests an element of reality, our brain fills in the gaps. Pamela has succeeded in enticing my eye into the depths of this artwork where she has achieved effects only possible in watercolour. Lots of carefully chosen pigments and lots of water – a high risk technique that created fascinating textures and colour movement.”
Such positive comments.
I’m looking forward to seeing the exhibition next week and travelling back with unsold works at the end of the exhibition. I’m also looking forward to Watercolour NZs paintaway days. This year there will be 62 of us going out to organised venues in and around Stratford and Taranaki in general to sketch and paint.
The other big event for Watercolour NZ is they have published a book to commemorate 50years as an art group. I’m in to get my copy!

Our plein air group, Waihi Plein air painters, met at a property on Parry Palm Ave in Waihi where we painted little replicas of miners cottages.

The walking group did a walk through the Karangahake Gorge and I took a photo that became this little sketch.

The week after we get back from Stratford I am joining the Open Studios trail. 21st to 23rd November at my studio in Waihi Beach. There will be 73 studios open Fromm Waihi beach in the north to Te Puke in the south. Come and see me❤️. I have maps available for the other studios to visit.

Each day a demonstration at 1pm and also the opportunity to share artist trading cards when you visit me.

This year I have added a collectors wall. Original pieces of art work for starting , or adding to your collection. I’ve included this especially for children/ young adults to start their interest in original artwork at less cost. Here are some of the pieces up close.

Subscribers to my blog and previous buyers of my work are able to get 30% off any purchase. Just remind those on the sales table.
Enjoy every day.

Ka kite ano.
