January 2026

I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and ready for the year ahead.

I’m still in holiday mode, which is inevitable when you live at the beach. Might I say the weather the last few days has been superb and I’ve managed to have lots of swims.

Activity on the beach.

I needed to paint the beach!

Waihi beach sunset.

What I have also done is enjoyed the local bush walks.

The Karangahake gorge walk is stunning. A step back in time when it was a thriving gold mining area.

So consequently holiday mode equates to ‘no painting done’. Well almost. Just quick little studies to keep me going.

I’m currently taking bookings for Watercolour classes. Beginner classes on a Tuesday starting end of February for 2 weeks and an abstract workshop in early March. Please email if you are interested in getting more details.

We start this group up again in February. Get in touch if you want to join us. We meet on the 2nd Friday of the month at a different venue each month.

I am looking forward to spending time with fellow artists and doing some forward planning for the year. What do I want to achieve ? How will I do it? Who will help me achieve this? What areas will I develop further? What research do I need to do?

All questions that help me go deeper into my practice and give me insight into where it is I want to develop my art this year.

Thank you for coming on this journey with me.
