Kia Ora and welcome to all of you that follow my art journey and inspire me to continue.

It’s an important part of my art practice to be able to ‘let go’ when things don’t look like what my thoughts wanted it to look like. Sometimes you end up with happy accidents that can move you into a whole new realm of work. The above painting was like that. The colour palette that I chose was to give me a different outcome altogether. The photo of the painting doesn’t look that bad but it’s not at all what I wanted.
That’s when I know I get most of my creative pleasure from my abstract/ impressionist painting. I turn to letting the water flow and move the colour where it will.

Some of my works will include ‘ Blue Landscape’ as above and smaller work in fit in corners.

Before the fuel crisis was announced I went up to Tairua to 8 artists and their open studios for the Mercury Bay Open Studio trail. We spent time sharing and discussing art ideas and tips with some wonderful artists. Thank you to all those people. I know what an effort it takes to do this so I appreciate what you did. It also gave me some insight into what visitors want when they visit.

Enjoy April. For some of you you will be enjoying warmer spring days but for those of us in the southern hemisphere the days are becoming shorter and cooler as winter creeps nearer.
Ka kite ano. ( see you again)
