Remember November

The year is racing by and this month reminds us that Christmas is just around the corner. With it comes the events that mark the end of the year. Schools and universities come to the end of the academic year. Summer comes and the beaches fill with a new and exciting energy.

October and better weather allowed a more convivial atmosphere to painting and sketching outside.

Sketching sketchers.

Beautiful day to capture this historic gold mining and processing site. Lots of ruins.

The Tauranga Urban sketchers brought the group out to Te Puna, north of Tauranga and closer to me. Couldn’t pass up an opportunity like this. The locals had opened up the church for us to view their special taonga. What a quiet, peaceful place to sit and draw.

Hahaha 🤣 the spire wasn’t really falling over. Reminds me of a knome.

On 15th October I spent the morning in Whaea Victoria’s classroom at Waihi Beach School, enthusing 7 &8 year olds about the mysteries and magic of watercolours. The school is having an art exhibition 3.30 to 6pm on 12th November, run by the PTA and raising money for the school . I’m pretty sure there is going to be some amazing watercolours painted by the students.

The Waikino Art Exhibition is a big event in the Waihi Art calendar. It runs for 4 days over the long weekend of Labour Weekend.

This year I was very honoured to be chosen as one of the judges for this award and with fellow artist Graham Young, spent a difficult day choosing artists for these awards.

An extremely high standard of artists had entered.
Looks serious.

Now I’m gearing up for the last big event of the year!!!! The Tauranga Garden and Art Festival.

Lots of gardens, with lots of artists.

Each artist is allocated a garden in which to display and sell their art. This year I have been placed at the Omokoroa Country Club!!!

The show home is where I shall be.

An architectural show home is available for me to fill with Pamela Lines original artwork. Wooohoooo!

So looking forward to seeing my collectors again and meeting new ones in this beautiful setting.

For those of you who would like a 1 adult 2day pass for the Garden and art festival I have 1 available . Free.

Txt me on 0221075712 with your name and days you would like and I will try to match you up. This is for my subscribers only. Good luck.

I’m working very hard on some large pieces at the moment , which will be in the Garden and Art festival.

For those of you in the Tauranga district, check out the Cargo Shed on the waterfront that will have on display an art work from each contributing artist.

See you next month. Ka kite ano.

Pamela
