May Magic

Kia Ora and welcome back to all my followers.

I’ve got lots to share with you this month. Firstly the Tauranga Society of Artists Expo in April. This was amazing and I shared a space with some incredible artists.

My exhibition space.

I sold 2 paintings during the weekend and if you look hard you can see the top left painting has a red dot. 🔴 The other one to sell was the small dark one on the bottom row. One of the buyers had bought one of my paintings at the last Expo. That’s always a buzz for me. 🙏 Thank you to those people.

While in Tauranga at the Expo I visited the Imprint Gallery at the historic village and updated my cards and matted paintings for sale.

Lots of beautiful images. All original pieces of art.

If you are at the Historic Village pop in and have a look at the others I have there.

I have just come back from a week in the South Island. Specifically Queenstown and Clyde. Watercolour New Zealand hosts a paintaway twice yearly for all their members. This is a great opportunity to meet and paint plein air with other watercolourists from all over NZ. I was part of the group this time and had a wonderful time staying in Historic Clyde and spending each day painting autumn.

Golden Poplars everywhere!

Each night the artists came together and set up a pop up gallery in the local hall. Wow!! It was incredible with so many paintings and ALL watercolour.

Pop up gallery with many locals viewing.

Although I bought all of mine home. Over 27 paintings sold from our pop up.

There was always something to paint.
Lake Hayes
Schist rocks
Otago Mist

I finally got to do some of my feeling stuff and took to my little watercolour box with a stick and credit card and gauged out paint and felt the landscape more. I knew something was wrong but I finally got it right. (On the last day)

During the month I have also immersed myself in some intense painting in my studio. Two full sized sheets.

#316 ($300)
#317 ($300)
#315 ($200)
#314 ($200)

That’s a wrap for May. Hope to catch up next month. Love getting your feedback, keep it coming.
