Just into June

Kia Ora and welcome to my blog, coming to you at the beginning of our winter in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Not entirely a winter scene but some of those blues get pretty intense over the ocean.

Im still doing lots of playing and experimenting with watercolour, with shapes, lines, pastel, crayon and ink. These examples are A4 size. As always some worked better than others.

Which ones do you think work best?

They were on A4 sheets of paper but my next experiment was quite different. I splashed out and got a 10 metre roll of watercolour paper feeling the need to go BIG!

Marks and shapes.
It went over 2 metres.

Then I realised there was just paint on paper. No real plan of what I was doing, and feeling rather overwhelmed by the size of it all. I stopped. I will lay it out and see if a plan emerges.🤪

In the back of my mind I have the knowledge that exhibitions are coming up and I have to register. It’s always difficult to register a painting that hasn’t been painted.

Another problem at the moment is my studio space. My walls are full, my shelves are full and I’m still producing.

So I’ve decided to have a “Making Studio Space SALE”

#918. $150 57x47cm
Memories of Tuscan Hills. $200 73x42cm
The Beach. $150. 62x45cm
Receding Tide. $200. 70x53cm
Rocks at the Beach. $200. 74x46cm
Across the Hills. $150. 52x44cm

I apologise for the reflections on the paintings from the glass. These paintings are all framed and have been part of my collection for some time but it’s time for them to move to new homes. These are crazy prices and in some cases do not cover the cost of framing but I’m offering them to my subscribers only.

Postage will be extra if required.

Day 1. A Pile of Persimmons

With another artist, Phil, I am doing a 30 day challenge. 30 days of sketching, painting or just plain doodling , but thinking about art anyway. This is day 1 above and day2 below (today).

Day 2. Pieces of Pumpkin.

It’s very difficult to do this for the 30 days of June so I’ll be able to let you know how it goes in my next blog in July.

Thank you all for your continued support and encouragement.

Pamela
